Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro Receives the Prestigious Samyang Award at the CRS Annual Meeting

Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, Head of the Cancer Research and Nanomedicine Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, was awarded the Samyang Award in honor of Sung Wan Kim at the 2025 Controlled Release Society (CRS) Annual Meeting, held last week in Philadelphia.
Prof. Satchi-Fainaro expressed deep appreciation for the honor and thanked Prof. Ayelet David for the nomination, as well as Professors Molly Shoichet (University of Toronto), Alexander Kabanov (UNC), and Paolo Caliceti (University of Padova) for their support and recommendations.
The CRS Annual Meeting, known for its scientific excellence and vibrant community, was described by Prof. Satchi-Fainaro as intellectually stimulating and inspiring. She also participated in the “Titans of the CRS” panel, moderated by Dr. Juliane Nguyen and Dr. Roy van der Meel, alongside leading figures in the field: Alexander Kabanov, Tamara Minko, Maria Kavallaris, and Vladimir Muzykantov.
Prof. Satchi-Fainaro shared her pride in seeing two of her lab members, Ron Kleiner and Giuseppe Longobardi, deliver professional talks during the meeting. She also extended special appreciation to Dr. Avi Schroeder, CRS President, for leading the event, and congratulated incoming CRS President Dr. María J. Vicent and Dr. Helena Florindo, who will chair the 2026 CRS Annual Meeting in Lisbon.
