Misliya Cave, Israel, is part of a complex of prehistoric caves along the western slopes of Mount Carmel.
In 2002 A hominin left hemi-maxilla (Misliya-1) with seven intact teeth and one broken incisor was found in the site, together with thousands of flint flakes, dated 250,000 to 160,000 years ago, during an era known as the Early Middle Paleolithic.
This fossil of modern human, the oldest one found outside of Africa, telling us that the homo sapience left Africa 60,000 years earlier than we once thought.
